 The City of Chula Vista has introduced 12 new pre-designed ADU models, including 1, 2, and 3-bedroom options. These plans offer cost savings and quicker permit processes. Pre-designed plans can reduce design costs by thousands. There will be some fees, like the energy consultant Title 24 costs, which will still apply. Since these models are pre-approved, review time is significantly reduced. The portal provides resources such as an ADU Checklist, covering the permitting process from application to permit issuance, along with information on permits and Development Impact Fees.
